Want to make money from your data? Placr create application programming interfaces (APIs) that make data available to developers to integrate in their applications. These applications - which can be web services, iphone or other mobile apps - get your data in the hands of consumers. Access to the API can be secured using unique keys where developers sign up for different packages, for example free up to an agreed limit, then payments based on volume of usage.
Typically APIs are available over the web and data released in a structured format such as XML or JSON, but we can also develop content APIs for searching human-readable resources such as web pages. Data can be searched for using terms in free text, by matching defined categories, by location, by time, or by almost any other characteristics that your data has.
When the publishers Pearson PLC needed APIs to release data as part of their Future Technologies program, they approached us to help develop them (see the Pearson developer portal).
